Bookbinding – Introduction

The course is designed for those interested in the introductory aspects of bookbinding, book restoration and gold blocking. You will undertake practical exercises in bookbinding and finishing in a fully equipped bindery, guided by experienced staff. You will complete progressive projects of increasing difficulty, from stationery up to leather bound books and raised band styles. You will complete a minimum of three hand bound books. Tools and equipment in the bindery are available to use as needed for projects.
